Aha--this means <gasp> I'm using an older ISO, probably from the 18th as
that still seems to be the latest one on most mirrors--well, the two
that I looked at, anyway.  :)

Thanks to you (and Chris in his follow up email) for quick response and
explanation. I hadn't realized that *that* was what had triggered the
whole thing.
