I can:

[root at prophead ~]# ping -R golem3
ping: record route: No message of desired type

[root at prophead ~]# ping -R intranet
ping: record route: No message of desired type

[root at prophead ~]# rpm -q iputils
iputils-20071127-6.fc10.x86_64

[root at prophead ~]# cat /etc/issue
