I've been trawling the logs and it appears that the dhcp lease was 
successfully renegotiated and that the device was briefly disconnected 
overnight, but re-connection was swift and complete.  This is definitely new 
behaviour.  If the logs are useful I'll post them.

I am not aware of anything other than the big update yesterday that could have 
changed things.
