Here the i386 updates killed [the default] keyboard under GNOME.
Haven't had any time to look into it other than booting the previous kernel,
which didn't fix it. I've run

  rpm -e anthy scim-anthy kasumi libgxim imsettings-libs imsettings scim im-chooser scim-python scim-hangul scim-chewing scim-m17n scim-bridge scim-qtimm scim-bridge-gtk scim-bridge-qt scim-python-pinyin scim-rawcode

to get rid of packages that are not needed here, and that also has fixed
the keyboard. The package set that had been updated is this:
