emacs redisplay dead slow in latest update

Anyone else seeing this?  The problem is still there.

I created https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=487757
but it doesn't look like anyone has commented on or looked at it.

I worked around the problem by downloading and building
Emacs 23.0.91, which seems to be working pretty well.
