how to get information out of koji with less pain?

When searching by Package, I believe that means searching by src.rpm
name. If you want to search for binary packages (like the packages
build from a src.rpm), try changing the search target from "Packages" to
"RPMs".

I *think* kernel-firmware is a noarch package, you might try adding
"--arch noarch" to the koji command.
