Having patched serial.tcl, the error changes:

error flushing "file4": I/O error
error flushing "file4": I/O error
     while executing
"flush $SRLFILE"
     (procedure "DoSendSPacket" line 37)
     invoked from within
"DoSendSPacket"
     (procedure "SendSPacket" line 37)
     invoked from within
"$ProcSendPacket PrdReq $PDTYPE(PrdReq) 0"
     (procedure "SendData" line 25)
     invoked from within
"SendData product"
     ("after" script)

Any hints?
