Shouldn't the fact that beagle doesn't work with both firefox and thunderbird be a release blocker?

Maybe but it doesn't seem like either Beagle or Tracker qualifies in its
current state. They are either buggy, leak memory, lack in functionality
or all of these. It is better to have mature solutions when they are
ready as default.
