I have just few minutes ago updated rawhide and since it contained several
plymouth packages I had hoped that the problem was fixed. Alas, it wasn't.

My grub.conf although strictly build by anaconda and yum is totally different
from yours:

title Fedora (2.6.31.1-56.fc12.i686)
	root (hd0,0)
	kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.31.1-56.fc12.i686 ro root=/dev/mapper/vg_epotest-lv_root
LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 KEYBOARDTYPE=pc KEYTABLE=dk quiet
	initrd /initramfs-2.6.31.1-56.fc12.i686.img

I believe your system is quite different from mine, for example I can't "cat
init" because it is a module. I think I'll have to file an issue with bugzilla.
