Yum and Packagekit download discripency

Hi All,

I was installing packages after another fresh install of F11 and saw a
discrepancy,The PackageKit ran and listed the update size of around
700MB. Moving through the list i figured out that there were few that i
don't need at all on my system,so in removed them from system using
'yum erase <package 1> <package 2> <package 3> ...' 

The PakageKit automatically refreshed itself once the yum was done with
its work,and to my surprise now the download size was much more ~
1.2G.Further removed few packages listed for update by PackageKit ,using
yum in CL.

Again the PackageKit was there with more data to download,this time
~1.6G.
Fearing this I decided to download 1.6G instead of something much more
than this ,by removing some more packages.

But to the surprise the Yum ,just mentioned the download size to be
~300Mb,which was further reduced by presto.
