Most likely, your problem is that tomboy (and other mono apps) like to
do key grabs without participating in the infrastructure that the
desktop provides for conflict resolution. Unfortunately, gnote copied
this misfeature... So look out for gnote/tomboy grabbing Alt-F10/F11.
