Thanks for the images. Now, don't you think we need to file a bug somewhere? Can you do this test, please. Change the translation of File to anything else say ?????? and test with this new translation. If the menu also duplicates, this means it's a generic bug and it's not a matter of SHADDAH but we are restricted to translate it exactly to something forced by another file/lib. I am not familiar with GTK but in kde all those File, Edit, ... menu's should be derived from kdelibs and you don't need to translate them in every application. Just once and for all. If only SHADDAH will produce this bug, it would be funny and hardly believable that SHADDAH duplicate menu's instead of letters ;) Waiting eagerly for your response! -- Munzir Taha PGP Key available gpg --recv-keys --keyserver www.mandrakesecure.net F0671821 Telecommunications and Electronics Engineer Mandrake Club Member Maintainer of the Open Arabic Bugs Project at http://wiki.arabeyes.org/OpenBugs Maintainer of Fedora Arabic Translation Project CIW Designer, ICDL, MOUS, Linux+, LPI 101 New Horizons CLC, Riyadh, SA From sabdelg at redhat.com Fri Oct 1 20:40:50 2004 From: sabdelg at redhat.com (Sherif Abdelgawad) Date: Fri, 1 Oct 2004 16:40:50 -0400 Subject: [Fedora-trans-ar] Not 100% again References: <007101c4a69d$287180e0$483210ac@thinkpad> <200409301833.36507.munzirtaha@newhorizons.com.sa> Message-ID: <00fa01c4a7f6$f3433d40$323210ac@deskstop> 11 Fuzzy and 6 untranlsted due to some updates again : )) Sherif > On Yaum al-Khamees 15 Sha`ban 1425 06:25, Sherif Abdelgawad wrote: >> I was double checking today (Freez day) and found that there >> are some files needs more translation. >> >> I guess we passed the freez dead line. I still say it is a bug, unintended behaviour of the itemfactory in the pygtk bindings specifically, and undocumented. I think it will show one entry only, not two. Please, try to reach a conclusion here whether this is a bug or not. Actually it's not fair for pygtk to force me not to use diacritics in my translation so I also tend to believe it's a bug now (again ;)) but since I don't know the inner working of pygtk and don't even have time to test a sample code posted here before. Generally, I would say filing a bug (even when in doubt) won't do harm but would make it more clear. I actually have checked this a couple of days ago and was sure that I had sent an e-mail. Don't know where it is gone but the idea was: In pygtk when you use the itemsfactory you build a menu flattened like: /File /File/Open /File/Save ... and it is displayed as: /File |- Open |- Save ... If you say: /File /FiLe/Open /File/Save ... you will get: /File |- Save /FiLe |- Open with any variation appearing as a new entry. Essentially, just what Eldesoky said. The following bugs have been fixed: - arabic help in anaconda though there's some strings not translated, example anaconda-help should be rebuilt - redhat-artwork has been fixed so the 'next' and 'previous' arrrows work correctly - some (all ? ) packages include arabic translation now there's still the openoffice.org bug but I've not reported it yet. I'll try to post some screenshots tonight. What we need to do next.. keep our status as...0 untranslated string 0 fuzzy string and in parallel to this step we review the rest of translated PO files.. if you find any inproper translation (grammatically, technical terms or whole context), come over here send your suggestions or even your comments and we shall discuss it and reach to final translations.
