Open it in any editor like kedit or gedit or even notepad if you happen to run that thingie. Just take a look and close it. Now, open it with kbabel. If this got you interested read http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdesdk/kbabel/index.html or part of it at least. Then ask. That's all ;) Please, don't do any serious translation with those files since they are a bit old just experiment with the idea and report back when you are ready to do a real work that finds itself in fedora next distribution. Hope this would also help Mohamed Akl (F0LL0W3R) to start translation. -- Munzir Taha Telecommunications and Electronics Engineer Maintainer of Fedora Arabic Translation Project https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-trans-ar Maintainer of the OpenBugs project page at http://www.arabic-fedora.org/munzir/OpenBugs.html Master CIW Designer, ICDL, MOUS, Linux+, LPI 101 New Horizons CLC, Riyadh, SA From mueenissa at gmail.com Thu May 11 19:17:26 2006 From: mueenissa at gmail.com (Mueen Issa) Date: Thu, 11 May 2006 22:17:26 +0300 Subject: [Fedora-trans-ar] shell, pre-installed, post-installed translation (was: Ping) In-Reply-To: <200605112039.26514.munzirtaha@newhorizons.com.sa> References: <004e01c64c11$826c52d0$223210ac@deskstop> <200605101739.05498.munzirtaha@newhorizons.com.sa> <37900f8f0605100843r6a25ece4mb6e8d2799cb713fb@mail.gmail.com> <200605112039.26514.munzirtaha@newhorizons.com.sa> Message-ID: <37900f8f0605111217j7511f849i8ba0cde7709e5b53@mail.gmail.com> Interesting. Sure! depending on your personality and your look to life. Have you ever helped someone and didn't charge him money for your help? Have you ever taught someone how to do something without asking him for money? Have you ever thought that there are things you do for free and things you do for a living? Not everything is for free, ok, but not everything is for money too but get assured that everything had a reward (think thereafter, think exerience, think self comfort, ...); again depending on your beliefs. and yes, once you translated any file, it will carry your name and any this would be recorded so any change you do at any time could be checked using our cvs system. Also, if we are satisfied with your translation and you did a considerable contribution, we would list your name and your information in arabic-fedora.org so you can add it to your CV and refer to it. Also, keep in mind technical translation is not as easy as everyday translation and we are not going to praise you if you don't _really_ deserve it. It's a challenge you can accept or refuse. -- Munzir Taha Telecommunications and Electronics Engineer Maintainer of Fedora Arabic Translation Project https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-trans-ar Maintainer of the OpenBugs project page at http://www.arabic-fedora.org/munzir/OpenBugs.html Master CIW Designer, ICDL, MOUS, Linux+, LPI 101 New Horizons CLC, Riyadh, SA From munzirtaha at gmail.com Sat May 20 22:05:28 2006 From: munzirtaha at gmail.com (Munzir Taha) Date: Sun, 21 May 2006 01:05:28 +0300 Subject: [Fedora-trans-ar] Alaa Has Been Detained! Message-ID: <200605210105.29550.munzirtaha@newhorizons.com.sa> Salaam, I am very sad to know today that alaa (Alaa Abd El-Fatah), a well-known contributor to gnu/linux arabization has been detained from a slashdot article (http://politics.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/05/08/1054237) Though I have no relation personally with alaa and I don't agree with all his ideals and opinions, I don't see a reason that he should be punished like this. I really hope he would be released soon so he can continue his contribution to free software movement and free speech. -- Munzir Taha Telecommunications and Electronics Engineer Maintainer of Fedora Arabic Translation Project https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-trans-ar Maintainer of the OpenBugs project page at http://www.arabic-fedora.org/munzir/OpenBugs.html Master CIW Designer, ICDL, MOUS, Linux+, LPI 101 New Horizons CLC, Riyadh, SA
