new to translation

hello everybody,
i am new to a translation project for linux, i am new
to any project under linux. therefor i do not have any
experience neither in attending a linux project or a
translation proiect.
i do know how translating for fedora linux works
(rules, guidelines, tools uses, etc.).
my question is: where to start ?
what tools are there to be uses (what documentation do
i need to start reading)?
what about: how to make a translation ? how to
coordinate with others ? where to start ?
