Hi,

I thought it might be good to mention this bug on the mailing list as
well: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=466644

It seems if UTF-8 characters more than 2 bytes "wide" are used in the
translations of anaconda's text interface, the text interface breaks in
interesting ways, like
<http://vpv.fedorapeople.org/misc/anaconda-quotes-problem1.png>.

Quote from Chris Lumens:
"A lot of the text mode interface code is going to be going away before
F11, so it's worth seeing if these strings will still even be present in
text mode before making the drastic changes I outlined above. However
if you do want to be absolutely sure, I'd start modifying the po files.
It is very unlikely we will do either of my previous options."

If your translation is affected by this bug, it might be worth trying to
find ways of using only 1 and 2 byte characters. In Finnish it's quite
easy since the problematic character is the right double quotation mark,
'”', which can be replaced with '"'. I actually introduced the right
double quotation marks into the Finnish translation as I didn't know
they would cause problems like these. Now it's a matter of finding all
those characters used in the text interface and replacing them. It might
help if anaconda's po files were refreshed against the current sources,
but usually that has happened much closer to the release...
