Chuck, the modprobe was not for this machine. I thought it was the other twin
machine but I had them backwards.
Anyway, here is where I think the taint problem is:

This machine is the host machine for vmware and qemu guests. The drbd driver is
no longer used.
What is the best way to unload these temporarily? I don't want to mess up our
normal boot.
