The route that was > created last wins. Of course, that means you cannot reach any link-local hosts > on the network that was attached first, but I guess that is OK. I need to correct myself here. Linux doesn't allow multiple routes to the same destination with the same metric. An elegant way to work around this is by adding the ifindex to the 1000. i.e. Something like this: ip route add 169.254.0.0/16 dev eth0 metric $((1000 + `cat /sys/class/net/eth0/ifindex`)) scope link The second route (i.e. the default one) only needs to be there if we have an IPv4ll address assigned. I can thus create it in the avahi-autoipd package, it doesn't need to be set globally. Thus I only ask you to replace this line in the network scripts: ip route replace 169.254.0.0/16 dev ${REALDEVICE} by this one: ip route add 169.254.0.0/16 dev ${REALDEVICE} metric $((1000 + `cat /sys/class/net/${REALDEVICE}/ifindex`)) scope link -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. Maybe the tool should check if ntpd is configured on the box and if it is wait until the time is synced from the server before renewing? Also, clock script /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/90clock has a delay of 20 seconds (for the network to come up). With my old laptop (a Dell Latitude D600), I could reproduce it fairly easy... probably about 50% of the time. With my current laptop (a Dell Latitude D620), I don't think I've *ever* been able to reproduce it. On both my old and current office PCs, I don't think I was ever able to reproduce it. On my home PC (running F9), I can reproduce it, but it happens extremely infrequently... maybe only once out of every 50 X server invocations. The problem is more likely to occur when I start X immediately after a [re]boot. If the problem occurs, if I shut down and then restart X, the problem is extremely likely to occur again. If, however, before restarting X, I do something that will "stir" memory (e.g., let a "find /" command run for 30 seconds or so), then the problem is extremely unlikely to reoccur. Again, given that toggling an option can fix the problem in a running server (see the upstream freedesktop bug), this problem is almost certainly the result of bug in memory allocation (probably, the use of uninitialized values) within the X server. I suspect that without some sort of memory testing toolsuite (e.g., Valgrind), the bug is going to be very difficult to find. :( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. It seems that somehow, a high-pass filter gets activated by default and the basses are cut off. I only noticed that after buying a subwoofer for my stereo set. However, if I set the model to auto, i.e. modprobe snd-hda-intel model=auto I get another on/off switch in the mixer, called "Headphone", which seems to switch between a low-pass and high-pass filtering. I.e., I can get either higher or lower frequencies cut-off, but I can't disable the cut-off at all. Moreover, I was playing with using other model settings, and it appears that the asus* models set the card properly in this regard, and I get both high and low frequencies without any filtering. Sadly, it works only in 2ch mode. Any speakers connected to higher ports (back, LFE+Center or side) remain silent. I tried different models and I seem to get good bass and treble with model=asus-dig, but then I don't get more than 2 output channels. $ rpm -q kernel alsa-lib kernel-2.6.26.3-29.fc9.x86_64 alsa-lib-1.0.17-2.fc9.x86_64 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. I'm sorry, but developers should feel ashamed. If the problem is "device-mapper target type "raid45" not in kernel" I think that this bug only requires rename the module "raid456" to "raid45" (maybe an alias is valid too). Do you need 2 years to fix it? How many versions of Fedora are affected? It is not a bug in dmraid, it is only a module naming convention. You can change kernel module name or you can change dmraid to require the same module name that you are using. Other Linux distributions had this bug, but they solved it in weeks. So please fix it. All additional comments should be made in the comments box of this bug. Summary: cpan2rpm doesn't work with latest Pod::Text https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462832 Summary: cpan2rpm doesn't work with latest Pod::Text Product: Fedora Version: 7 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: low Priority: medium Component: cpan2rpm AssignedTo: gavin.henry at gmail.com ReportedBy: benny+bugzilla at amorsen.dk QAContact: extras-qa at fedoraproject.org CC: fedora-perl-devel-list at redhat.com, fedora-triage-list at redhat.com Estimated Hours: 0.0 Classification: Fedora Created an attachment (id=317167) --> (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=317167) Switch to Pod::Parser instead of Pod::Text +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #279251 +++ I am cloning this bug because it now affects Fedora 9 without adding any third party packages. The original bug expired because Fedora 7 End-of-Life. Description of problem: Pod::Text no longer derives from Pod::Parser so the method 'interpolate' does not exist. As near as I can tell, this is the only method used in cpan2rpm, so Pod::Text can be changed to Pod::Parser in the two places it appears. This is what I did locally and it now works for me. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): cpan2rpm-2.028-2.fc8.1.noarch perl-5.10.0-33.fc9.i386 How reproducible: Run cpan2rpm for some module (any will do...) Actual results: [...] -- module: /var/cache/cpan/build/libwww-perl-5.808-baHtIL -- Metadata retrieval Can't locate object method "interpolate" via package "Pod::Text" at /usr/bin/cpan2rpm line 522. -- Done -- Expected results: No failure from above. Fixing this bug will be a pretty radical change, since administrators that are used to reloading with 'service vsftpd restart' will now find that vsftpd children are killed and standing connections (and hence possibly file transfers) are severed. I'm adding Bug #456914 as a dependency, since we will need alternate way of reloading the configuration ('service vsftpd reload'). Current wording of ptrace manpage says that PTRACE_O_TRACESYSGOOD should affect only PTRACE_SYSCALL related traps. This completely negates the whole idea of PTRACE_O_TRACESYSGOOD, since now we can't detect other SIGTRAPs. In particular, one which is emitted after successful execve(). I propose to re-formulate ptrace description so that PTRACE_O_TRACESYSGOOD affects all ptrace-related SIGTRAPs which otherwise would be indistinguishable from ordinary ones. The patch implements this. The patch is against current git+utrace patch. I tested it with strace patched with previously attatched strace patch and verified that ugly workaround to detect post-execve() SIGTRAP is not needed anymore. This is where it is fiexd for utrace: - send_sig(SIGTRAP, task, 0); + send_sig(SIGTRAP | ((current->ptrace & PT_TRACESYSGOOD) ? 0x80 : 0), + task, 0); and ordinary ptrace: - if (!ptrace_event(PT_TRACE_EXEC, PTRACE_EVENT_EXEC, 0) && - unlikely(task_ptrace(current) & PT_PTRACED)) - send_sig(SIGTRAP, current, 0); + /* if PTRACE_O_TRACEEXEC option is active */ + if (ptrace_event(PT_TRACE_EXEC, PTRACE_EVENT_EXEC, 0)) + return; + if (unlikely(task_ptrace(current) & PT_PTRACED)) { + ptrace_notify_SIGTRAP80(); + } Patch also makes other SIGTRAPs send (SIGTRAP | 0x80), like single-stepping. The translation messages are correct UTF-8, Greek strings. 2. The console is configured to 8-bit mode (iso-8859-7), not Unicode. 3. The UTF-8 encoded strings are shown as if they are encoded in the iso-8859-7 legacy encoding. Do the strings look like $ echo '???? ????? ????????.' | iconv -f iso-8859-7 -t utf-8 ??? ???? ?????????? ????????????????. $ _ The solution is to have the console always in Unicode mode. The default keyboard layout for the console requires dead keys, something that is not supported in the Linux kernel, and something that needs to be supported in the terminal emulation program (not available, afaik, 'jfbterm'?). If there is interest for a Greek keyboard layout for the console, there should be a variant created that does not require dead keys. Even if it is not possible to type accents in console mode, the console should be in Unicode mode. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
