Chris,
Thanks for the pointer to check that log file, it actually says:

Do I perhaps need to point it somehow at the Xen kernel and initrd here:
http://zeniiia.linux.org.uk/pub/distributions/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/images/xen/
instead of
http://zeniiia.linux.org.uk/pub/distributions/fedora/linux/core/5/i386/os/
