The SSSD team is proud to announce the release of the System Security
Services Daemon version 1.8.0, our latest long-term maintenance (LTM)
release.

As always, the source is available from https://fedorahosted.org/sssd
and packages will be made available for Fedora shortly.

As 1.8.0 is now released, our previous LTM release, the 1.5.x series is
now transitioning to maintenance-only phase. We will not be continuing
to add features to the 1.5.x line.

Our tentative maintenance plan for LTM releases is as follows:
1) We will continue to add features, bugfixes and security fixes to LTM
releases until the next LTM version is released.
2) We will maintain the previous LTM release for major bugfixes and
security releases until a *second* LTM release arrives.
3) We will continue performing security fixes for LTM releases for a
minimum of one year after they transition to maintenance-only phase,
should security issues be discovered.
