The log.wb-DOMAIN is needed here to identify why winbindd is not able to
reach the DC.

Have you checked if DNS is still working and can resolve SRV records for
the AD domain, e.g.

dig SRV _ldap._tcp.AD.DNS.DOMAIN

should return IP addresses for your DCs.
