Sorry Ben, this is unusable.

You need to follow
http://www.freeipa.org/page/Howto/IPAv3_AD_trust_setup#Debugging_trust,
where it asks you to enable debugging in smb.conf.empty and re-establish
trust. Given that trust is not working, you need to re-establish it
anyway.
