I checked the code and '$' can be used only as the last character in 
group name, so error message is not quite exact

PATTERN_GROUPUSER_NAME = '^[a-zA-Z0-9_.][a-zA-Z0-9_.-]*[a-zA-Z0-9_.$-]?$'
