Greetings Red Hat Worldwide Partners,

Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat v7
hardware test suite Beta (v7-1.1-7) for software testing purposes with
Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 4 and 5.

In addition, partners may begin testing the Red Hat v7 hardware test
suite v7-1.1-7 against Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 test releases when
made available. Red Hat will officially update the Red Hat v7 hardware
test suite before Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 GA as well as inform
partners when to begin official Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Hardware
Certification testing.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite Beta (v7-1.1-7) package is not
considered an official release and should not be used for official
certification testing submissions. The current Red Hat v7 hardware test
suite (v7-1.0-18) should continue to be used for official certifications
of both Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x and 5.x.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite Beta is available at the following
location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/

Highlights:

* A new hwlatdetect test has been added to support performing
  certifications for the MRG product.

* The hwlatdetect test requires a newer version of rt-test than is
currently available in RHN. A test package has been made available on
the partner ftp site next to the v7 test suite under the ~/RHEL5 tree.

* The beta package has passed smoke testing on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  4.8 x86, x86_64, ia64, ppc, s390, and s390x; and RHEL5.4 x86, x86_64,
ia64,ppc, and s390x; other releases and architectures have not yet
  been tested.

If you encounter any problems please file any bugs against the 'Red Hat
Hardware Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
