Greetings Red Hat Worldwide Partners,

Red Hat is pleased to announce the availability of the Red Hat v7
hardware test suite Release Candidate (v7-1.4-36) for testing purposes
with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x and 6.x.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite RC package (v7-1.4-36) is *not* an
official release and should be *not* used for Red Hat Enterprise Linux
certification submissions. The current Red Hat v7 hardware test suite
(v7-1.3-46) should continue to be used for official certifications.

The Red Hat v7 hardware test suite RC (v7-1.4-36) is available at the
following location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/v7/1.4/

Highlights of v7-1.4 include:

* 'v7 server' is now separated into its own package (v7-server).

* The kdump test is now separated from reboot into its own test.

* Cpuscaling userspace minimum, maximum and performance run time checks
replaced with a new Aperf/Mperf frequency calculation.

* The Cpuscaling ondemand run time criteria changes from ±10% expected
improvement to at least 50% expected improvement.

* The maximum latency in the rteval test increased to 150ms from 100ms.

* 'v7 submit' now builds results.xml.gz results package.

Change highlights of the v7-1.4-36 RC include:

* Cpuscaling test changes/fixes to address issues with the aperfmerf method.

* Cpuscaling now loads the msr and cpuid modules on RHEL5 x86.

The v7-1.4-36 package has been smoke tested against RHEL5 and RHEL6 on
the x86, x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you encounter any
problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware Certification
Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
