Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the general availability of the Red Hat
Hardware Certification Test Suite (hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140416) for
certification purposes with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x.

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite General Availability (GA)
package (hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140416) *is* an official release and
should be used for Red Hat Enterprise Linux certification submissions.
Results from the current Red Hat hardware test suite
(hwcert-client-1.6.5-25.1 for RHEL 6.x) will continue to be accepted for
a period of 90 days.

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Test Suite GA is available at the
following location:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/hwcert-client/1.6.5.2/GA

The required hwcert-client-info package is available at the following
locations:

ftp://partners.redhat.com/a166eabc5cf5df158922f9b06e5e7b21/hwcert/RHEL6/hwcert-client-info/1.6.5.2/GA

Highlights of the hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140416 test suite GA include:

* The hwcert-server-1.6.5.2-20140416 package should now be used on the
Test Suite Server for all Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6.

* The network bandwidth test will now retry on failure with a warning
message replacing a confusing failure message before the retry.

* The error message that returns when the test plan for a certification
is not yet frozen has been cleaned up to make it more clear.

* Due to Bug 1078274, the hardware catalog calls may not find the
matching certification entries when a new make is submitted. The new
make will be stored in the catalog but as it is not yet approved, the
search will fail to locate it.

Reminder of the highlights between the previous test suite
hwcert-client-1.6.5-25.1 and the release candidate
hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140401:

* The cpuscaling test will now utilize the marketing frequency as
defined by Intel for the expected base max CPU frequency.

* The cpuscaling test will now properly scale a single cpu when testing
for the top single core turboboost frequency.

* The storage test has been updated to test ext4 by default on RHEL6.

* A traceback has been addressed that may appear on some PowerPC
systems; Bug 1083333.

* A number of tracebacks have been resolved when the hwcert-client is
talking with the hardware catalog.

* The hwcert-server can now send results via email. Please note, a mail
handler is not configured by default by the test suite server.

* The biosdevname check in the network tests has been updated to gather
info for each the RHEL 6 device naming schemes.

* The expresscard test can now test an expresscard slot when using a
USB+PCIE combo expresscard.

The hwcert-client-1.6.5.2-20140416 GA package has been tested against
RHEL 6.5 on the x86, x86_64, ppc64, and s390x architectures. If you
encounter any problems, please file bugs against the 'Red Hat Hardware
Certification Program' product in Red Hat Bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com).
