Greetings Red Hat Partners,

We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of version
2.0 of the Red Hat Certification Hardware Test Suite. The new version
of the test suite *is* an official release and should be used for new
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x and 7.x hardware certification
submissions. New submissions from the older 1.x version of the test
suite will be allowed for 90 days from today, at which time all new
certification requests must be performed using version 2.x of the test
suite.

Highlights of the new version include:

 * The web interface for the local test server (LTS) has been updated
to provide a better user experience
 * LTS functionality and management of all product testing has been
moved into the "redhat-certification" package, which is available
exclusively for RHEL 7 systems
 * A new package called "redhat-certification-backend" is available
for RHEL 6 and RHEL 7 and acts as the client for the LTS
 * Support for certification of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 has been added

An updated user guide for the new test suite is being uploaded to the
Red Hat Customer Portal and will be available soon. A separate
announcement will be sent when it is published. Until the guide is
available at the official location, it may be viewed at the following
link:

The new Red Hat Certification Hardware Test Suite 2.x packages are
available at the following locations. They will be moving to an
official Red Hat Customer Portal location in the near future. We will
send another announcement when the packages are available in their new
Portal location.

Note: The "redhat-certification" package is no longer used with
version 2.x of the test suite on RHEL 6.x. Systems under test (SUT)
should be configured to point to local test servers with
redhat-certification 2.0 installed on RHEL 7.x.

If you are having difficulty downloading the files, please contact
your partner manager or engineering account manager for assistance.

Known Issues
------------------------------------------------
 * An updated full-virt guest configuration file is needed to complete
certification of RHEL 7.2 systems. The file will be uploaded to the
partners FTP site at the usual location, but until that happens the
file is available here:
http://people.redhat.com/gcase/rhcert-2/fv-images/hwcert-x86_64.xml.tar.bz2
You will need to manually place this file and the other two
virt-related test files on your local test server (LTS) to allow virt
guest testing to pass. Please see the section entitled "Using
Locally-Hosted Pre-Built Guest Files" in the User Guide for further
information.

 * The test suite files are available from the temporary locations
mentioned above. They will be making their way to the official Portal
download locations shortly.

 * The documentation is available from the temporary location
mentioned above. It will be making its way to the official Portal
documentation location shortly.

Red Hat values your ongoing participation in the Red Hat Enterprise
Linux development, testing, and certification efforts. Thank you for
your continued partnership. If you have any questions or comments,
please do not hesitate to contact your partner manager or engineering
account manager.

Regards,

The Red Hat Hardware Certification Team
