Greetings Red Hat Partners,
Starting today May 17th we are accepting official certification requests
and results for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.13. This includes
all cloud, hardware and software certifications..
Testing must be conducted using official releases of RHOCP 4.13 and the
certification test suite(s) but otherwise continues to utilize the
established certification workflows and tooling you are already familiar
with.
We are also pleased to announce the general availability of Assisted
Installer certification for RHOC 4.13 onward. Assisted Installer
certification is a hardware certification for systems that sits alongside
the current User Provisioned Infrastructure (UPI) and Installer Provisioned
Infrastructure (IPI) certifications. This certification demonstrates
compatibility both with the OpenShift Assisted Installer
<https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.13/installing/installing_on_prem_assisted/installing-on-prem-assisted.html>
and operation as a single node openshift cluster.
Assisted Installer certification does not require standing up a separate
RHOCP cluster for testing as the IPI certification does. Assisted
Installer certification is intended to be conducted from the same lab
environment as your RHEL certification. The SUT must be able to reach the Red
Hat Hybrid Cloud Console
<https://console.redhat.com/openshift/assisted-installer/clusters> for
Assisted Installer certification. Further information and details for the
Assisted Installer certification can be found in the Bare Metal Policy
<https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_certification/8.61/html/red_hat_openstack_platform_hardware_bare_metal_certification_policy_guide/index>
and Bare Metal Workflow

guides.

Special notes for RHOCP 4.13 Certifications:
Software partners who are conducting container recertification from a
previous RHOCP 4.x release to 4.13; privileged containers require
additional review on your part to ensure proper functionality. Highlighted
in the What’s new in OpenShift 4.13
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxvW_lVhsNo> video; RHEL CoreOS is now
based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2. Depending on the specifics of your
containers and the required privileges your containers may no longer be fully
compatible
<https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/rhel-container-compatibility> if
the container is not based on RHEL9 UBI.
Hardware partners who have already or in the future successfully complete a
RHEL 9.0-9.2 hardware certification on their servers will automatically
receive the associated RHOCP 4.13 UPI certification for that same server in
accordance with the compatibility of the RHEL versions utilized by RHEL
CoreOS <https://access.redhat.com/articles/6907891>.
We value your ongoing participation in Red Hat certification, software
development, and testing efforts. Thank you for your continued partnership.
If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact
your partner manager or engineering account manager.
Regards,
The Red Hat Certification Team
