Robert,

I have the utmost respect for you and the work you have done, and all that
you have contributed to the community. And while I can't speak for anyone
else, I will say that if this was written by almost anyone else, I wouldn't
even have bothered to finish reading it, let alone answer it. But it WAS
written by you, and I have far too much respect for you not to answer it.

Eventually, I think you will be right, and that LTSP will eventually migrate
more and more towards the fundamentals of how DRBL works, while still
supporting older systems, but I am not sure loading everything locally is
the best answer either, at least not with networking tech being where it is
now.

Who knows, maybe one day we will see bittorrent-esque method of distributing
the local apps / disk images / whatever that will make the server and disk
bottleneck go away. But for today, I don't think the networks would stand
up to it, at least not acceptably for most users and configs.
