IIRC, I have this motherboard in a machine. I have Win 2K on it now, but I
briefly ran some version of linux on it (pretty sure). I may have had to use
another video card or run it in VESA mode. If video is the issue, every
school has old 2 meg cards around from retired machines.

Amptron, Pine and PC-Chips are the just the same rebranded boards. These may
not be the greatest boards, but they are cheap and have served me pretty
well. I just installed RH on a machine with a socket 7 PC-Chips board this
afternoon.
