I use this at the command line -- a little command identity,
reflecting my hardware -- you'll never guess what I
downloaded overnight ...:

[root couch mnt]# cat /usr/local/bin/cdburn
#!/bin/sh
#
CMD="cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0  -speed=4  -eject"
#
[ ! -s $1 ] && {
        echo "Error: cannot find $1 - bailing" 1>&2
        exit 1
        }
#
$CMD $1
#

[root couch mnt]# history | grep burn
   71  cdburn Limbo-re0701.1-i386-disc1.iso
   72  cdburn Limbo-re0701.1-i386-disc2.iso
   73  cdburn Limbo-re0701.1-i386-disc3.iso
   94  cat /usr/local/bin/cdburn
   95  history | grep burn
[root couch mnt]#
