Re: [K12OSN] 3com ISA nic not working

I got it to work!!!!
Thanks for the tip that got me going in the right direction. In the DHCPD.CONF file I made a small change to let linux auto recognize the IO=0x300 IRQ=10

# AST DX2-66 host ws001 { hardware ethernet 00:A0:C9:12:28:70; fixed-address 192.168.0.1; option option-128 e4:45:74:68:00:00; option option-129 "NIC=3c509"; }
# Gateway DX2/66 - SMC8013 host ws007 { hardware ethernet 00:00:C0:51:18:45; fixed-address 192.168.0.7; option option-128 e4:45:74:68:00:00; option option-129 "NIC=wd IO=0x300"; } }
Interestingly, the older wd card still works with the io= specified, but the 3com509's now work great with NO io= setting....

MANY THANKS for the good advice. Joe Guenther

Check out what the card is really configured at. At the same time, check out the Interrupt number and add it to the modprobe line if you can.
