    Well, under 8 and 9, it's automatic...let's say your 'real' device
is /dev/hdd.  Soft-link /dev/hdd /dev/cdrom and see if 'gets' it.

    It will also probably need to reboot, to put the parameters into
/etc/fstab.  If it doesn't, google it.
