Re: [K12OSN] Multiplayer games possible?

One of the most fun parts of my job is to use VNC to remotely close a browser when someone tries to surf a porn site. Sometmes I will, when they are trying to enter the url, use the backspace key, or type in one or two wrong characters to drive them crazy. It is amazing how many times some people will try to get to certain sites.

Another really great time is to be vnc'ing some one who is surfing a porn site and then get into our squid/squidGuard box and filter the site in real time (I wrote a web interface just so I could do this). The porn site tbey want is available for a moment, then it is blocked. Ye-ha! One of my more favorite stupid patron tricks! Frustrates the hell out of them! This is a good way to snare sites for the block list.

I can tell you based on personal experience that FreeCiv works quite well...

BTW, anyone else had fun just sitting at your terminal randomly killing games and
watching the murmurs of annoyance filter around the room. :-)

Hi Folks,

I'm soo enthused with this LTSP. Just finished with another demo of it to
some folks, they were very impressed. (I'm scrambling to learn!)
Any rate , a local pastor asked me if there was any method using LTSP to host
a multi-player game. (The idea being an outreach to teenagers)
Long on excitement, short on linux - thought to ask the better minds. The
facility is available shortly, would start with say 10 terminals and scale up
from there, if it's do-able. While I don't figure stuff like "Counter Strike"
being do-able, wondering if there's any decent possibilities.

Any takers, love to hear about it.

TIA!
