Re: [K12OSN] SUCCESS dhcpd on fresh LTSP3.1.1 running, but nooffers

SUCCESS. i put in an Olicom(tulip) NIC i had here, turned off the
onboard NIC, DL a new DOS executable to the HD, and it boots perfectly
through the switch now. the motto here is looking like Dlink DES1009g
switch and Intel 82559 NIC do not like each other.

the only problem now is, that my slim thin client is now a full dual NIC
PC, and scattered all over the bench. i only have room for one IDE in
the case, so i'll keep the HD and lose the CD. this case wants those
mini-pci brackets, but i can probably cut off that extra 2 inches from
the bracket that is sticking up. the PCI card itself is kind of tight
fit on the lid also, but there's about 1/16" before it gets to any
traces, i can probably grind that down. or destroy it trying...

would it be better in the group opinion, to get a bootable CD in there,
so i can optionally use the CD drive of the client (client sound works
fine), or keep the HD, and get local swap? there's 2 IDE busses, but
only one mounting spot. or, there is room, i *could* epoxy the HD in an
empty spot (fine, until it dies).
