Re: [K12OSN] DHCP and multiple subnets

regular dhcp runs on 192.168.5 255.255.255.0..you could either provide no range
for 192.168.0 and bootp hard code every machine that uses ltsp and put intwo
nics iwth ip_dorward set to pass packets between the two subnets or...........
change your subnet mask to 255.255.0.0 run one dhcp on 192.168..5 and the
other on 192.168.5 run ltsp dhcp on a different port .ltsp..2.4.21 lets you
assign a different port for dhcp on the client side and adding -p 1002 to
/etc/rc.d/init.d/dhcpd at the line that starts up dhcp on port 1002 on the
ltsp server .
see ltsp contribs for article by bhaskar manda.
we run win 2000 at 10.10.0 subnet 255.255.0.0 and make an exception for 10.10.10
my ltsp server runs on port 1001/1002 with 10.10.10 subnet mask 255.255.0.0
So all machines are on same network win2000 gives out addresses on port 67 for
win machines but won't give out 10.10.10 addresses....ltsp machines only answer
on port 1001/1002 and only get 10.10.10 addresses.chuck
