We use Scribus at school a LOT.

Mainly our Media class, using it to make magazine layouts and Posters,
it has got a lot better over the past year, although when they changed
the text entry in february i think it did cause a few problems, used in
conjunction with GIMP to create logos our classes have done some really
outstanding work. I cant praise scribus highly enough.
