Knowing me, I was probably part of that "push toward debian" campaign.  It
certainly sounds like me. ;)

The 1000 little things (like VeryNice, OO defaulting to USletter, OO
defaulting to .doc, edu packages included, etc) make K12LTSP worth the
couple issues it has.  Really, my only frustrations are with the way
kdm/gdm/xdm are so insanely managed.  That's not any particular person's
fault -- but my goodness what a mess.

That said, I did just switch to using plain xdm.  All the appropriate
config stuff was in /etc/X11/xdm -- and it "just works" nicely. :)  (I
don't offer anything but IceWM, so I didn't need choices)
