For an upgrade install of open office, which is the way to go. Unistall
the old version and install the new one as a local install in the
/usr/local dir. Same as that one only use the Linux ./install file for a
network install. Leave the old version in and upgrade it with the new
version as a local install. Or upgrade to a network install over the
existing install. I unistalled the old version and installed the new
version as network. When I did that, the existing files lost thier
asssociation with the old OO, but did not pickup on the new install. So
when accessing from nautilus it errors out and says no available viewer.
But if I open OO and choose file-open, it works fine. I know I need to
re associate the files, but 1 at a time would take quite a while. Is
there a way to do a mass association of the documents?
Thanks.
