[K12OSN] OT: IP change & SSL breaks?

I know this is off topic, but I'm hoping someone out there has a quick 
fix...

We are re-IP'ing our entire network. We changed the address of a 
webserver (Apache 1.x) and the associated DNS records (the IP address is 
not specifically stated in httpd.conf). After that change, the webserver 
hands out pages via http, but not via https. The errors vary between 
browsers - Mozilla says the connection terminated unexpectedly; IE says 
the page cannot be found.

Why did an IP change break the secure pages?
