[K12OSN] changing from gdm to kdm

I don't know how to force them to use IceWM, but here at least is how I set
the default desktop...

/etc/sysconfig/desktop
DESKTOP="KDE"

this then makes each user's first session default to KDE.  They can change
it after that, but at least the default is there.  Then there is also a
script to change a user back to the default if he/she screws it up beyond
help.

How can I change the clients to make them start kdm instead of gdm?

Also does anyone know how I can lock the users to KDE or GNOME and not
allow them access TVM or IceWM?
