Subject: [K12OSN] Win2K DHCP server

The company I work for is very interested in using Linux thin-clients. We
have
a Win2K DHCP server that is not going to go away any time soon, however.
Does
anyone have step-by-step instructions for configuring a Win2K DHCP server
for
Linux thin-clients?
Thanks,
~Matt

Matt-
I think that all you have to do is disable the DHCP daemon in the Linux
server box and make sure that the range of addresses for clients matches the
ip range on the DHCP server. The Linux box will default to a private range
starting at .100 if I remember right. Your range may be different, so you
would have to change the range on the Linux box. I don't think the Linux box
cares where the client gets its address... It has been a couple of years
since I played with it, but I had a K12LTSP box serving in an evironment
serviced by a NT 4 DHCP server-no problems.
