[K12OSN] Pushing Desktop Items

Greeting All

Hope everyone is succeeding in getting a good start on
the new school year. 

I need a little help, K12OS has a neat little feature
on the desktop of root to push new icons to all new
user desktops, I am however looking for a way to send
desktop items to specific users desktops, in
particular - users that belong to specific groups. As
well as having these icons added to desktops
automatically as new users are created.  
Anyone got a script for this or any other ideas??
