I can say with some authority that XPilot works perfectly in this
situation.  It's essentially multiplayer Asteroids, except, well, no
Asteriods.  But you fly around and shoot each other.  It doesn't
require much at all in the way of processor time or graphics, but the
real time multiplayer interactivity is just right, and it doesn't
require any time to learn.
