[K12OSN] Asus SP97-V Motherboards

Good morning,

I've finally been able to make time to setup a K12LTSP server and start
going through the pile of "old/junk" computers that we've been
collecting the past few years, trying to find usable clients.

I appear to be having a consistent problem with the computers that have
Asus SP97-V motherboards in them (and we've got a lot of those so it
would be great to get this figured out).

(In an effort to minimize the variables in figuring out if these
computers will work as clients, I've been using the same AMER.Com C110W
card (w/ RTL8139 boot disk) in all the computers, so I don't think the
NIC is causing the problem.)

After the computer boots and appears to start loading the kernel from
the server, I see the following on the terminal monitor:

Running dhcpcd on port 67

After a minute or so of waiting, the following pops up:

ERROR! dhcpcd failed!

Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!


I've also used "tail -f /var/log/messages" on the server to try and see
if something is happening there that will give me a clue, and this is
what I get:

dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:40:f4:a7:9a:bd via eth0
dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.0.250 to 00:40:f4:a7:9a:bd via eth0
dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:40:f4:a7:9a:bd via eth0
dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.0.250 to 00:40:f4:a7:9a:bd via eth0


The final DHCPOFFER and the Kernel panic appear to occur at about the
same time. 

If anyone has any thoughts on what the problem might be, or what
additional information I can provide to help narrow it down, it'd be
greatly appreciated.
