Yep upgraded from 4.0.1-1

Copied /etc/yum.conf.conf.rpmnew (there wasn't an .rpmsave file in /etc). Kept getting error messages for j2re and j2re-plugin so I had to --exclude them. After doing this it updated successfully.

The error messages were:

[root at dempseysden etc]# yum update j2re
Setting up Update Process
[snip]
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: missing dep: /usr/java/jre1.5.0/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so for pkg j2re-plugin
[root at dempseysden etc]#

I created this directory and populated it first with libjavaplugin_oji.so no go. Symlinked to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so and again no luck.
Anyone else experiencing difficulty with updating java.

Overall, after I figured out the nfs over tcp/ip issue (see earlier post) upgrading worked pretty good and 4.2.0 is much snappier than 4.0.1. Apps like slypheed open much quicker and gnome feels more responsive than icewm was under 4.0.1. Great job, Eric. Thanks!
