I've seen a site somewhere that had a bbs-frontend to a
news-server/group. It wasn't just a web-based newsreader (I think) but
it looked like a regular web-forum, but all postings was sent to a
news-server. That means that eg mailman could be running keeping track
of a mailing-list in the same information-structure!

Great!

That way the web-forum-people can use their prefered medium,
mailinglist-people could use the mail program, and us news-people could
use our news-reader!.
And we could stille take together dispite of our different medias.

Now that's what I call freedom!

I agree totally, and if somwone finds that software, PLEASE let us know!
I also want to use it!
