 you can look up the Sony Vaio SR series on Sony website - if there are
any refurbs, they should be well below $1000 (i recall seeing one for
$650 several months ago). The source for used ones - ebay. I'd go for the
stuff below $500 with guarantee to work out of the box. things to
remember: SRs have 10" screens - very readable, but if you are
far-sighted get a big magnifying glass; they have no built-in nic, so you
need a pc card, and you can have only one. but boy, at 2.9 pounds they
are light!
