Use a boot disk...and then mount the drive and check for files you want
to keep.
If run'n squid.../var/log/squid/access.log can get huge =) I was up to
98% before I realized.
Or dansguardian logs too if you use that for content filtering...

Subject: [K12OSN] Dying drive
I'm fighting a server that is returning a massive number of drive
errors-
Feb 22 10:52:32 adminmrc kernel: hdb: read_intr: error=0x40 {
UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=150470832, sector=150470832
Feb 22 10:52:32 adminmrc kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40
(hdb),
sector 150470832
Feb 22 10:52:32 adminmrc kernel: EXT3-fs error (device ide0(3,64)):
ext3_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=9405077,
block=18808854
Feb 22 10:52:32 adminmrc kernel: hdb: read_intr: status=0x59 {
DriveReady
SeekComplete DataRequest Error }
The root drive is 100% full and I don't know how to find where all of
the
space is going.
The messages in /var/log are not overly large.
The Nvidia drivers are not working with X either anymore. I just want
to
get logged onto the box as a normal user just once more to be sure that
I've
gotten everything archived.
Any ideas?
Thanks
