trust me, it will be easier to write a cron job than hack squid to suit,
although squid is probably the 'proper' way to do it.  You users will
get a rather terse reply from squid when they hit their timelimit, while
the iptables+cron solution - their access will simply stop working. 
(you might change sq to reply with "good-night boys and girls  ;;;-)

I would agree.. however squid.conf is rather unforgiving...
