[K12OSN] Macintosh Client Question

I turned off virtual memory in Apple:Control Panels:Memory and it hangs
in the same spot. The NIC is an Apple Ethernet CS II. I have a Asante
Tech card with a SMC chipset on my desk, should I try that? I could
always try another machine as well.
